DEAN BATCHELOR AWARD

Tuesday, December 7, 2010, Pete won the Dean Batchelor Award from the Motor Press Guild (MPG) for his book CAN-AM CARS IN DETAIL. Publisher David Bull. Photographer Peter Harholdt. Designer Tom Morgan.

Established by the Motor Press Guild in 1995, the Dean Batchelor Award recognizes excellence in automotive journalism as exemplified by the man it is named after–Dean Batchelor.

The award is a stylized representation of the Bonneville streamliner that Dean designed, helped build and drove to speed records on The Salt in 1949 at the beginning of his distinguished career in automotive journalism.

Pete accepts the preliminary award for Best of the Year in the book category. Winners are selected in four categories including books, articles, photos, and audio/visual. From those four the Dean Batchelor Award winner is selected. Presenting was Matt DeLorenzo, Road & Track, at right.
