  • A warm summer's day in 1956. That's me pouring refreshment for my sisters on a Sunday drive in the family Rolls Royce. It's the 2nd of 3 Phantom IIs our dad, Ozzie Lyons, owned from the mid-1950s into the 1980s. From left, the girls are Pat, Claire and Sue.

  • Ozzie's third PII, 294AJS, a LHD chassis built in 1934 which didn't get its Brewster body until 1936 (no idea why). It was originally owned by a gentleman in Boston. Ozzie bought it in 1957, the same year all 6 of us piled aboard and spent 3 weeks touring from New York's Westchester County to the West Coast and back. That trip taught young Pete to work an unsynchronized "crash box" manual transmission.
